Kedesh in Galilee in Mount Naphtali

These are the City of Refuges shall be appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah. And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. These six cities are on either side of the Jordan and are under the supervision of the Levites. These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel and for the stranger that sojourned among them, that whosoever killed any person unaware might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. (Joshua 20:1-9 KJV).

Kedesh in Galilee in Mount Naphtal was given to the children of Naphtali and assigned to the Gershonite Levites. (Joshua 21:32 KJV).

Kedish is on the shore of the Sea of Galilee approximately twelve miles from Tabor.

The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud died. The LORD sold the children of Israel into the hand of Jabin the king of Canaan.

Deborah, a prophetess of the LORD God, judged Israel at that time when the children of Israel cried to the LORD. Deborah dwelt under the palm tree between Ramaph and Bethel in mount Ephraim.

Deborah called Barak, the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali. Barak would not go to rescue the children of Israel unless Deborah would also go. She agreed to go also on the journey but the honor would be for the LORD God. The LORD would sell Sisera, the host of Hazor the captain of king Jabin, into the hand of a woman.

Barak and Debora went to Kedesh with Zebulun and Naphtali to march with them. The LORD fought for Israel that day and they destroyed their enemy. It was Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab and the father in Law of Moses, who killed Sisera and fulfilled the prophecy foretold by Deborah.

After the army of Asisera fell by the sword, Sisera fled on foot to the tent of Jael and fell asleep. Jael took a nail of the tent, and took a hammer in her hand and went unto Sisera and drove the nail into his temple and fastened it into the ground. Then he died. When Barak came pursuing Sisera, Jael came out to meet him to show Barak that Sisera was indeed dead. (Judges 4:1-24 KJV).

During his reign, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria attacked Israel again, and he captured the towns of Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, and Hazor. He also conquered the regions of Gilead, Galilee, and Naphtali, and he took the people to Assyria as captives. (2 Kings 15:29 KJV).
