What Does the Bible Say About The Second Coming Of Christ?
There is much written about the Second Coming of Christ. There is much written about what it means to you and me. Some scoff and some mock some believe and some could care less. It is important to know what the Bible says about the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and leave man’s interpretation to man.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS:
The Second Coming of Christ is DESCRIBED AS THE DAY OF THE LORD:
The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. Everyone will say peace and safety then sudden destruction will come, like the travail upon a woman with child; and there shall be no escape. Be thankful we are children of the light live in the light and are not in the darkness. Therefore be watchful and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:2). In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we gather together, and His spirit, and with the power of Jesus Christ to rescue those that had been delivered into satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. (1 Corinthians 5:5). The heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat with the coming of the day of GOD. (2 Peter 3:12). That Day when Jesus shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all them that believes, because the testimony of the Apostles and disciples were believed in that day. (2 Thessalonians 1:10). Those that reject Jesus, and does not receive His words, and holds fast onto him that judges him: The words that Jesus spoke, that very same shall judge in the last day. (John 12:48).
PURPOSES OF THE SECOND COMING OF THE LORD ARE TO:
Fulfill His word when Jesus told the disciples “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.” (John 14:3). Raise the dead, This is what Christians call “the RAPTURE, “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Jesus shall put all things under His feet and that means to destroy death, which is the last enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:25-27). Gather the elect and reward GOD’S people, Jesus, the Son of man, shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16:27). When Jesus, who Is our life, appears in His glory, when shall we all also appear with Him in His glory. Jesus shall Glorify believers upon His second Coming. (Colossians 3:4).
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS THE TIME OF:
The Time of the second coming of Jesus Christ is unknown to us. Just as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines to the west, so shall the coming of the Son of man be. But of that day and hour no man, angels of heaven knows, only our Father GOD knows. The coming of Christ will be just like in the days of Noah. There was eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the time Noah entered into the ark, then the flood came, and took everything away. It shall be that way with the coming of the Son of man. There shall be two in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (Matthew 24:27, 36-40). After the Gospels’ proclamation to all and preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, when the end shall come. And Jesus shall return. (Matthew 24:14). Let no man deceive you by any means, do not let you confidence be shaken, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word because the second coming of Jesus Christ can not come until first there is a falling away, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; some call the “the rise of “antichrist”. (2 Thessalonians 2:2-3). Not all shall sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1Corinthians 15:51-52).
MANNER OF THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST:
The Son of Man in heaven, Jesus, shall appear in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and all the tribes of earth shall mourn. Jesus shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together all His elect from the four winds, and from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:30-31). When the Lord Jesus Christ is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire and will take vengeance on those who do not know the LORD GOD, and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. They shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power. When Jesus returns to glorify His saints, and to be admire in all them that believe on Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 ). The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will come as a thief in the night. So we must keep ourselves perfectly until that day comes. When they say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3).
BELIEVER’S ATTITUDE TOWARD THE SECOND COMING OF CHIRIST SHOULD BE TO:
Wait for the coming of Christ who shall confirm you unto the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.(1 Corinthians 1:7). Look for that blessed hope and the glorious appearance of the great GOD and our Savior Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13). Be ready for and watch for the second coming of Jesus because the hour of His coming is not known. (Matthew 24:42). For those fighting a good fight, finishing the course, and keeping faith a crown of righteousness be laid up which Jesus, the Lord, and the righteous judge, shall give at that day. This shall be given to all those who love the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy 4:8). Be busy until the Lord Jesus Christ Comes. (Luke 19:13-18). Pray for that Jesus comes quickly. (Revelation 22:20).
