Adoption: What the Bible Has to Say

Adoption is a word that depicts the legal action of transferring a person from the natural authority of the father to the authority of the adoptive father. We can become sons and daughters of the LORD God and can enjoy an intimacy with Him, their Heavenly Father, through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The LORD God, having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. To the praise of His glory His grace, wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved Son Jesus Christ. We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:5-7).

The LORD God did know before and did predestinated those to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ, that He might be the first born among many brethren. (Romans 8:29).

We were not called by the name of God, however He sought us that had not ask for the LORD God, nor sought after Him. (Isaiah 65:1).
We are made manifest in to the Lord Jesus, even though we did not ask for it. (Romans 10:20). That at that time we were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. (Ephesians 2:12).
Therefore the Gentiles {Typology: A heathen and foreign people without a king. Unregenerate. Uncircumcised state or person. Lawless (not subject to Jewish law). wicked} had the chance to be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ by the gospel. That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel. (Ephesians 3:6).

Elected by God are the Children of Israel. They are a holy people to the LORD God and was chosen to be a peculiar people unto Him above all nations that are on the earth (Deuteronomy 14:1-2).

The LORD God will not forbid them, the Israelites, of the seed of Abraham. Nor will the LORD God cast away His people which He foreknew in the beginning. It was by His grace that they were chosen. Because of disobedience the LORD God gave them the Spirit of slumber, their eyes were shut that they should not see, and their ears shut that they should not hear; unto this day. Because the chosen Children has falling from salvation, it has come to the Gentiles for the purpose of provoking jealousy. (Romans 11:1-11).

As many that will receive the Lord Jesus Christ, they will be given the right to become the children of the LORD God, all who believe on His name. Even though we are not born of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but are born of the LORD God. (John 1:12-13).

A person must be born again of water and of the Spirit he can not see the kingdom of God. (John 3:1-7).

We as the adopted eagerly wait for the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope. The Holy Spirit helps our infirmities (weaknesses) and makes intercession for us. (Romans 8:23-26).

The source of the adoption is by the grace of God and it is by faith, the gift is not like that which came through the person who sinned but by one that was without sin, which is through Jesus Christ. (Romans 5: 16-17).

The promise that was given to Abraham, that he should be the heir of the world, was given through the righteousness of faith not through the law. If it were made of the law to be heirs, faith would be made void, and the promise made of no effect. (Romans 4:13-17).

Know then we are they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. For we are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:7-26).

The LORD God sent His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem those that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption to be the Sons of the LORD God. Because we are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying Abba, Father. We are therefore not more a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Jesus Christ. (Galatians 4:1-7).

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but we have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God, and heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if we suffer with Him that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:14-16).

It is because of Jesus Christ that we have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Therefore we are no more strangers or foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. It is in Jesus that all the building are render close-jointed together, framed together and grows unto a holy temple in the Lord Jesus. It is in Jesus Christ in whom we are built together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:18-22).

Whosoever is born of GOD does not commit sin; for His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9).

The manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, so that we shall be called the sons of God the world will not know us because the world does not know the LORD God. (1 John 3:1)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Those who overcome the End Times, Jesus will make a pillar in the temple of God, and they shall no more go out, and Jesus will write upon them the name of God, and the name of the city of God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from God, and Jesus will write upon them His new name. (Revelation 3:12).

Critical comment about Gentiles it is important to note we that have accept Jesus Christ as our Lord, Savior, and King are no longer considered gentiles because we are no longer heathens and without a king. Our King being Jesus Christ.

Because we are adopted sons of the Heavenly Father, we can expect to be disciplined by the Father. We should not despise that correction, disciplining or chastening from the LORD, nor be weary of His correction. The LORD corrects those He love as a Father does to the son whom he delights in. (Proverb 3:11-12).

Children of the LORD God should not despise, nor faint when rebuked by the Father God. Whoever the LORD loves and receives will be chasten and scourge (or irritate). If they endure the chastening, God will deal with them as sons. What kind of a son would they be if the Father didn’t try to improve them by chastisement? They would be bastards and not sons at all. If the fathers of the flash gave correction and were given reverence, then how much more reverence do we owe the Heavenly Father, and be subject unto the Spirit of God and live. (Hebrews 12:5-11).

We that are joined with Christ have a glorious inheritance if we believe in God, believe also in Jesus. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us, and will come again, and receives us into Himself. (John 14:1-3).

I children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so we must suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. For the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:17-18).
