The Healing of Naaman

The healing of Naaman is a story most people know from their Sunday school days. Naaman was the commander of the Syrian army, and Syria was a traditional enemy of Israel. A young Israelite girl, undoubtedly captured in a raid on Israel, was a slave in Naaman’s house. She told her mistress that there was a prophet in Samaria, Israel’s capital, who could cure Naaman of his leprosy.

Guilt by Association:

Bathsheba has many times been found guilty by association. Some say she was a little too willing to obey the order of the King. I would like to ask when anyone in history, let alone a woman, has ever had the choice to obey or disobey the King. We must always be aware that we can be blamed for those around us and can be found guilty by association.
