Jesus Loves the Little Children
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
When Jesus uses the word “suffer” he is telling adults to not send the little children away from Him. Parents brought their children before Jesus so; Jesus could pray over them and lay His hands on them. The disciples got mad at the parents. Jesus got mad at the disciples for trying to keep the children from Him. Jesus told the disciples not to keep the children from him, because they are what the kingdom of heaven is all about. So Jesus laid His hands on the children.
Jesus said “Suffer the little children to come unto me.” This lesson teaches children they are important to Jesus. The teachings of Jesus like love their enemies, and to do good to people who hated them. They were to pray for people who mistreated them. Jesus said; “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Jesus loved children and valued them highly. Jesus taught that people should become like children in order to inherit the kingdom of God. Just like children who trust their parents we should also trust in God and depend on Him for our needs.
