Moses Compares to Jesus

There are many similarities between the lives of Moses and Jesus. The books of Exodus and Deuteronomy and the Gospels demonstrates the similarities between Moses and Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy; Exodus; Matthew

Pharaoh tried to kill Mosses as a baby

The Pharaoh was afraid because the children of Israel were more and mightier than the Egyptians. He was afraid that they would join their enemies of the Pharaoh and fight against them. He wanted to get them out of the land. The Pharaoh charged all his people, saying that every son that is born shall be cast into the river, and every daughter shall save alive. (Exodus 1:7-22).

King Herod tried to kill baby Jesus

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, looking he that is born King of the Jews? They had seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Then Herod, after the wise men had visited, realized he had been mocked by the wise men and was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. (Matthew 2:1-12).

Moses was hidden from the Pharaoh

The mother of Moses was a daughter of Levi as was his father. When his mother saw him she knew that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. He was hidden from the Pharaoh
(Exodus 2:1-2).

Jesus was hidden from the King Herod

It was after the wise men left Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus when the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying for him to, arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and he was to stay there until the angel of the Lord brought word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. Then Joseph arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: (Matthew 2:13-14).

Moses was sent into Egypt to save his life

When the mother of Moses could no longer hide Moses, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the Nile River’s brink. (Exodus 2:3). Miriam, the sister of Moses stood far off to watch what would happen to Moses. (Exodus 2:4). The daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. (Exodus 2:5).

Jesus was taken into Egypt to save His life

It was after the wise men left Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus when the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying for him to, arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and he was to stay there until the angel of the Lord brought word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. Then Joseph arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: (Matthew 2:13-14).

The daughter of Pharaoh’s daughter adopted Moses and named him

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, because I drew him out of the water and when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, this is one of the Hebrews’ children. Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?

The daughter of Pharaoh told Miriam to go and she went and called her mother, the mother of Moses to nurse. The daughter of Pharaoh told Miriam to find a woman to nurse the baby and she would give her wages. And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, because I drew him out of the water. (Exodus 2:5-10).

Daughter of Pharaoh’s  adopted Moses and named him , Joseph adopted Jesus and named him

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14).

The birth of Jesus Christ was like this: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately. Joseph was considering these options when the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Joseph knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. (Matthew 1:18-25).

Moses became a prince of Egypt

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, because I drew him out of the water. (Exodus 2:10). Moses had all the privileges of being the son of the daughter of Pharaoh.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Jesus came and spoke unto the disciple telling them that all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18).

When Jesus was born suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:13-14).

There was a long period of silence from the childhood of Moses to his adulthood.

Moses was raised as an Egyptian. There is a time of silence that nothing is known about his education, jobs, or relationships. When Moses grew up, he found out that he was an Israelite. Moses looked at his brothers and the troubles they had to live under. He was angry at the cruelty and the brutality with which his people were treated. One day Moses saw old men and children being whipped and beaten by the Egyptians to work harder. This made him lose his temper and beat one of the Egyptians “taskmasters” to death and he hid him in the sand. When Pharaoh heard this, he ordered that Moses must be killed! Moses however, fled Egypt to the land of Midian and sat down by a well.

There was a long period of silence from the childhood of Jesus to His adulthood.

When Jesus was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast of the Passover. We know He was going about his Father’s business. (Luke 2:42-49). Then there is a silence until Jesus was baptized, and the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Jesus, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Jesus was about thirty years of age. (Luke 3:21-23).

Moses tried to save a Hebrew kinsman

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brethren.
Moses looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. (Exodus 2:11-12).

Jesus came to save His Hebrew kinsman first

The twelve disciples choose by Jesus was sent forth, and commanded by Jesus to go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans: but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They were to go preaching that the kingdom of heaven was at hand. They were to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:5-8).

There was a woman, a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought Jesus to cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs. Jesus answered the disciple and reminded them that He was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. This meant because this woman was a foreign woman and not from the house of Israel she was not included. Jesus did not send her away the disciples had asked Him to do. (Matthew 15:21-28, Mark 7:24-30).

Moses went from being a prince to a pauper

Moses had slayed an Egyptian and when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well. Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. The priest of Midian came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. She ran to her father and told him what Moses had done and he was welcomed by the shepherd. Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. (Exodus 2:15-21).

Jesus went from being God to being man

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

The men in the country where Jesus was raised noted he had great wisdom and these mighty works. They asked if this was not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And they were offended at him. (Matthew 13:55; Mark 6:3).

When Jesus, was baptized, and he came up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 13:16-17).

The transfiguration of Jesus While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. “ (Matthew 17:5).

Moses saved women at a well

Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian when Pharaoh heard that Moses had slayed an Egyptian: and Moses sat down by a well. Seven daughters of the priest of Midian who had come to drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. There were shepherds who dame and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. The seven daughters of the priest of Midian said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. (Exodus 2:15-19).

Jesus saved a woman at a well

Jesus, being wearied with his journey, came to Jacob’s well sat on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said unto her, Give me to drink. The disciples had gone into the city to buy food. The Samaria woman asked Jesus how a Jew could ask for a drink of water from a woman of Samaria since Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus told her whosoever drinks of the water that Jesus shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that Jesus shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman at the well asked for this water, that she would not thirst again.
(John 4:5-15). The woman knew that the Messiah comes, which is called Christ: when he comes, he would tell all things. Jesus told her that she was He. (John 4:5-15).

Moses became a shepherd

Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb. (Exodus 3:1).

Jesus is the Good Shepherd

Jesus identifies himself as being the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” (John 10, 14).
Jesus said His sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (John 10:27).

The God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrew 13:20-21).

Moses’ mission was to redeem Israel from slavery

The angel of the LORD appeared unto Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And when the LORD saw that Moses avoided to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. The LORD had surely seen the affliction of His people which were in Egypt, and heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters and He knew their sorrows. The LORD came down to deliver them out the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. He LORD went to Moses and sent him unto Pharaoh, that he might bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt. (Exodus 3:1-10).

Jesus’ mission is to redeem mankind from slavery to sin

John saw Jesus and recognized Him as being the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29). For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).

The LORD God, who at different times and different ways spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, Jesus Christ, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Hebrew 1:1-4).

Moses was loved and supported in his ministry by his sister Miriam

When the children of Israel had fled Pharaoh the LORD parted the Red Sea and the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and were drown. And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron and Moses, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, “Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.” (Exodus15:20-21).

Jesus was loved and supported in his ministry by His mother Mary and was assisted in his ministry by women
And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. (Luke 8:2-3).
And there followed Jesus a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. (Luke 23:27).
It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles after the crucifixion of Jesus. (Luke 24:10).

And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children. (Matthew 27:55-56).
And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. (Mark 16:1).

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. (John 19:25).

He was often rejected by his own people.

And the people murmured against Moses, saying, what shall we drink? (Exodus 15:24).

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. (Exodus 16:2-3).

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, why chide with me? Why do you tempt the LORD? (Exodus 17:2).

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! And the people chide with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! (Numbers 14:2-3).

The congregation of the LORD asked why the LORD brought them into this wilderness, that they and their cattle should die there? They asked why they were made to come up out of Egypt, and brought into this evil place. It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. (Numbers 20:4-5).

And the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this light bread. (Numbers 21:5).

Jesus was often rejected by His own people.

Jesus said unto them, did you never read in the scriptures, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? (Mathew 21:42).

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.” (Psalms 118:22).

Jesus Christ who was to us a living stone, was rejected of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
We also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Scripture said “Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.” (1 Peter 2:4-8).

Jesus talking to the disciples about the world hating them and rejecting them. If the world hate you, you know that it hated Jesus before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but Jesus has chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that Jesus said unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (John 15:18-20).

Jesus prayed to His Heavenly Father telling Him He had given them the word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as Jesus not of the world. (John 17:14).

Jesus taught the disciple, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31).

Moses gave God’s law on Mt. Sinai

These are the Ten Commandments that the LORD God gave to His people:
“I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” (Exodus 20:1-17).

Jesus gave the new law from the Mt. of Beatitudes

Jesus went up into ta mountain and spoke to the disciples.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

We are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. We are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; nor does it give light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said unto the disciples That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

We have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But Jesus says unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, that is empty, a senseless, empty headed man, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, you fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if you bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you; Leave there your gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison. You shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

We have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: Jesus says, that whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.
It hath been said, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.

Again, we have heard that it has been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yes, or no: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.

We have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, that you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloke also. And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two. Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not your away.
We have heard that it has been said, you shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those which love you, what reward have you? Do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:1-48).

Moses spent 40 days fasting on the mountain

And the glory of the LORD abode upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the Mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. (Exodus 24:16-18).

Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 34:28).

Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert wilderness

Jesus was led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward and hungered. (Matthew 4:1-2).

Moses performed signs/ miracles

The LORD God gave Moses instruction how to handle Pharaoh “And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.” Moses was instructed to take the rod in his hand, wherewith you shall do signs. (Exodus 4:8-9, 17).

Jesus performed signs/miracles

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name. (John 20:30-31).
