Healing a Blind and Mute Demoniac Man
Jesus was sent for the purpose that he might destroy the works of the devil. Jesus was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Those that are not with Jesus are against Him; and those that gathered not with Jesus scatters abroad.
Matthew 12:22; Luke 11:14-23
There was a man possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb who was brought to Jesus. When Jesus cured him so that the man could speak and see the crowds were amazed and said “Can this be the Son of David?”
When the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.”
Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, that every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Jesus ask the Pharisees “If I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.” Beelzebub is a name of Satan, the prince of evil spirits.
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Luke 11: 20 tell us that the finger of God cast out devils.
Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? Then he will spoil his house.
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathered not with me scatters abroad.
What Can Be Learned From This Lesson?
The demon-possessed, blind and mute had this impairment because of an evil spirit. This man was under the power of a demon that had entered and held possession of the man. Jesus cast out this demon and the man could both see and speak.
The people were amazed, and considered that Jesus might just be the Son of David. The One they had been waiting for. But the Pharisees, now committed to their flawed thinking again said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” This time, Jesus knew their thoughts and addressed their hardhearted unbelief.
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If satan casts out satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” Matthew 12:25-30

1 John 3:8 reminds us that those who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested or was made know, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Those that are not with Jesus are against Him; and those that gathered not with Jesus scatters abroad.
