The Integrity of the Word

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a woman of integrity. Mary is an example for us to embrace trust, honesty, values and principles to follow as we journey through life. Her integrity has given us the courage and knowledge to follow the integrity of the Words of the Savior.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him”. (Colossians 3:16-17)

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a woman of integrity. Earlier we said she was an example of unconditional faith and obedience to the LORD God. She also had integrity. Integrity is honesty, truthfulness and a confidence that what she believes is honest and true. Mary has allowed us to have values and principles to follow as we journey through life.

The Integrity of the Word that is the Lord Jesus Christ should dwell in all believers. An individual grows up believing in a set of principles and a set of ethical behavior to mold and pilot their lives. Some principles are simple and untouchable, while others act like a building block to establish and re-establish life direction. The most obvious sets of principles are those set up by our Lord Jesus Christ. Trying to maintain these qualities which are believed to be Christ like can prove very difficult to follow. These principles are untouchable and held dear to the heart of the believer. There are people in the world who would try to convince humanity the teaching of Jesus is out dated and useless.
Deep within the heart of the true followers of Jesus is the knowledge of the integrity of the Words of the Savior which cannot be changed or challenged. It is important that a believer builds safety valves to protect the basic teachings of Jesus. It is important not to allow the world to fill the minds and heart of the believer with lies about Jesus or about His Word.

We live in a time where simple truths are disclaimed and ridiculed. The Word of God, the Bible is rewritten many times over and changed to the point of being unrecognizable. The world has tried to make Jesus a fabrication claiming Him to be anything from a prophet of old, to the husband of Mary Magdalene, and even an angel that comes to earth to rescue the down trodden. It doesn’t stop with Jesus anyone trying to follow the example of Jesus also becomes a targets for persecution, rejection, banishment and even death. Even Mary the mother of Jesus has been ridiculed and mocked.

The Bible is being doubted and the worldly are trying to disprove its very content. Every believer who follows Christ Jesus is expected to choose the set of principles they will follow and emulate. Believers must be prepared to understand and defend these sets of principles they have chosen to follow. Know what you believe and know why you believe it. Mary knew in her heart and in her very soul who Jesus would become and never doubted it. We need to get on to this very stage in our journey through life.
Life experience play’s an important part in setting up coping skills to protect these set of principles we as human beings cherish. Some people learn life lessons over and over again establishing an assortment of survival skills in order to cope with the existing adversity of the principles we know in our heart to be true. It becomes up to the individual to protect that which is dear to the soul, securing that principle deep within so as not to be compromised by a world that has become uncaring, unloving, unresponsive to the simplest of the teaching of Jesus.
Mary pondered the times of her life with Jesus. Contemplation or pondering is also what we should be doing to protect the truth, honesty and very integrity of our own soul when it comes to our belief in Jesus Christ. Mary had to protect Jesus from many elements in his life before he came to the age of culpability or accountability. Women of Christ has the same responsibility to protect and guide their young and their families against a world that is pummeling our world trying to disclaim all that is honest, pure and trustworthy.

The soul of the believer should be insulate and protected from a world that has chosen selfishness as a way of life, using the principle of “I come first over any and everything else.” It is time to use all the coping skills that life encounter’s has granted to the believer in the past in order to survive the coming challenges that is about to be encountered. There is no more time to lick the wounds from the arrows being slung by this world. There is no more time to indulge in the tears of “what could have been” or the tantrums of what has gone unspoken. It will take total concentration to make it in these end times and be absolutely whole when our Precious Jesus call’s us home. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all!

Deuteronomy 11:18-20 is a practice we should be practicing: “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates.”
