Sincere Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1). Sincere faith can overcome the world and defeat the devil. Believers will live by sincere faith where unbelievers do not. Sincere faith works by love, is necessary in prayer and is characteristic of believers.

Sincere Faith Works by Love:

We through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. Faith which works by love. (Galatians 5:5-6). The aim, of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from faith unfeigned which is sincere faith. (1 Timothy 1:5).

Hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints, that the communication of thy faith may become effectual or active by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. There is great joy and consolation which is a calling near, in your love, because the tender mercy of the saints are refreshed by you. (Philemon 1:5-7).

Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17).

Faith without works is dead. Abraham was justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar. Faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:20–26).

Sincere Faith as a Benefits of Hope and Joy:

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:1-2). Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13).

The keeper of the prison who was in charge of Paul and Silas saw they were still there even though the doors were open. The keeper of the prison ask what he must do to be saved. Paul and Silas said Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and his house. And they took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household. (Acts 16:28-34).

The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1: 7-9).

Sincere Faith as Confidence:

The Lord GOD said: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.” (Isaiah 28:16).

Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious. He who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” (1 Peter 2:6).

Sincere Faith and Mutual Faith:

2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.

Paul speaking to all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. (Romans 1:12).

Every man is given by the spirit to be brought together to help others. One of those gifts is faith. (1 Corinthians 12:8-9).

Christ is Precious to Those Having Sincere Faith:

That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love. (Ephesians 3:17).

Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, (1Peter 2:7).

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” (Romans 3:24-26).

Sincere Faith Necessary in Prayer:

Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. (Matthew 21:22)

Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6).

Believes Will live by Sincere Faith Unbelievers Do Not:

Jesus tells us those who do not believe, it is because they are not of His sheep. Those belonging to Jesus hear His voice and Jesus knows them, and they follow Jesus. (John 10:26–27).

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. (1 John 5:1).

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20).

Sincere Faith Will Stand and Walk:

Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. (Romans 11:20).

Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand. (2 Corinthians 1:24).

For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Obtain a Good Testimony by Sincere Faith:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. (Hebrews 11:1-2

Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. (James 1:3).

Beloved, you do faithfully whatsoever you do to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of your charity before the church: whom if you bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, you shall do well. Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. (3 John 1:5-7).

Overcome the world And Defeat the devil by Sincere Faith:

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. It is those who overcomes the world who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (1 John 5:4–5).

It is taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16).

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9).

Jesus answered the ones who doubted He was the Christ. Jesus said to them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. (John 10:24-25).

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Jesus said He would not be with them for a little while. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not whither he goes. While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him. (John 12:31- 37).

But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, Paul departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. (Acts 19:9).

Pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-3).

Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? (Proverbs 20:6).

There is no faithfulness in our enemy’s mouth; their inward part is destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue. (Psalms 5:9).

Delivered From Power of Sin by Sincere Faith:

The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you do not see him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:7-9).

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalms 27:13).

For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4:10).

But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23).

Will die and Should Abound in Sincere Faith:

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (Hebrews 11:13).

When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. (2 Timothy 1:5).

But as you abound in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see that you abound in this grace also. (2 Corinthians 8:7).

Should Continue and be Strong in Sincere Faith:

Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22).

If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. (Colossians 1:23).

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead. (Romans 4:20–24).

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13).

Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck. (1 Timothy 1:19).

Should pray for the increase and assurance of Sincere Faith:

And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” (Luke 17:5).

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (2 Timothy 1:12).

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22).

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves Jesus Christ is in you unless indeed you are disqualified. (2 Corinthians 13:5).

All difficulties overcome by Sincere Faith:

Jesus said to the disciples, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20).

Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. (Matthew 21:21).

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23).

Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. (Romans 14:22).

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:6–7).

Sincere Faithfulness A characteristic of believers:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 1:1).

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:2).

And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brethren, but rather serve them because those who are benefited are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things. (1 Timothy 6:2).

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” (Revelation 17:14).

A Fruit of the Spirit:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. (Galatians 5:22).
