The Wiseman and the foolish man
Jesus did a lot of teaching about the kingdom of heaven. Jesus wanted everyone to know how to live forever with Him. Did you know that not everyone one shall enter the kingdom of heaven?
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
Matthew 7:21-27
Jesus said that Many people are going to say in the day of the Lord:
Gee look at me Jesus, don’t you remember me Jesus?
Jesus, I didn’t let bad things come into me.
I didn’t fight with my brother or sister.
I did everything my mommy and daddy said I should do.
Jesus, don’t you know how many times I said your name?
I did lots of wonderful things while I was growing up.
To some of these people Jesus will say: “I never knew you; depart from me, you that worked wickedness.”
Do you know why? Because Jesus knows those Who belong to Him. So, people would understand this better Jesus told this parable:
Therefore, whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: The rains came down and the floods came up. And the rains and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; But the house it did not fall. It was founded upon a rock.
Therefore, whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does NOT do them, I will liken him unto a foolish man, which built his house upon a rock: The rains came down and the floods came up. And the rains and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; But the house on the Sand fell flat and the came falling down.
If you build your lives on the Word of God and on the foundation of Jesus Christ then you are like the Wiseman. No matter how many problems, trials or tribulation fall upon you, and no matter how hard things are in your life you are not going to fall because Jesus is always going to be right there with you. Because Jesus Christ is our rock.
If you chose not to build your life around Jesus Christ and do not hear His Words and follow in His ways then you are like the foolish person who built your life on unstable, unreliable sources. So, when problems, trials or tribulation fall upon you and hard times are in your life you will fall because the foundation of Jesus Christ is not in you. You will be as the foolish person who has no way to turn.
So, build your life on the Lord!
