Palm Sunday Triumphal Entry

Palm Sunday is the beginning of the Holy Week. Jesus enters into Jerusalem as a King. Holy Week is the time when we need to be more aware of the teachings of Jesus. Palm Sunday Jesus is King. Friday Jesus is crucified and is our Sacrifice. Easter Sunday He is Resurrected and is our Savior.
Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:28-40

Jesus and His disciples were on their way to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast. Also call the Seder Meal.
Remember this is the celebration of the Passover Feast that the LORD God told us to never forget in Exodus 11-12. We are instructed to seal this night in our hearts and forever remember the Power and the Glory and the Majesty of the LORD God.
Jesus told two of His disciples to go into the village on the way and there they would find a young donkey that had never been ridden. They were to bring it to Jesus. If anyone questioned them, they were to say “The Lord needs it and will send it back soon.”
Years before the prophets had said: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” (Zechariah 9:9).
They brought the donkey to Jesus and put their cloaks (coats) over it and he sat on it. As they rode along the people began to throw their cloaks in the path ahead of them. Some cut branches and placed them in the path. They were making a way for the entrance of their king.
The multitudes shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.” (Matthew 21:9).
Some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto Jesus, “Master, rebuke thy disciples.” They wanted Jesus to make the people stop celebrating His entrance into Jerusalem as their King. (Luke 19:39).
Jesus said to the Pharisees that even if He told them to stop then the stones would immediately cry out.

This is the day that the prophecy is fulfilled when the disciples went into the village near Jerusalem. Great multitude of people of Jerusalem came running out to greet Jesus as their King.
We need to remember that this was the plan since the beginning of time that even if the people were forced to stop praising Jesus then the stones would shout out. We equally need to continue to praise Jesus as our King, Lord, and Savior.
